About the position

As a Field Test Engineer you will become a part of a young and enthusiastic R&D team, working in a dynamic and stimulating international environment with great growth opportunities. In this role, you will plan, coordinate, execute and report the testing of new system components and sensor prototypes as a part of the development process.

Your duties and responsibilities would include:

Planning and coordinating pilot demonstrations and field test trials for sensing systems;
Willing to travel for 60% of your time within European countries;
Processing and evaluation of measurement data, as well as reporting and documenting the test results for internal and external stakeholders;
Conceptualization of test setups and testing methodologies in accordance with project requirements and industry standards;
Design and realization of test setups and the associated infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical and software components (in collaboration with mechanical, electrical and software engineers within the company;
Maintenance and upgrading of test benches and test equipment in own lab;
Interacting and providing feedback to hardware and software R&D engineers supporting development and improvement of sensors and sensing systems.


Job requirements and competences

Preferably a Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, Physics or a similar field;
Minimum 2+ to 5 years of experience in a similar position as a test, application or lab engineer;
Good knowledge of data acquisition, signal conditioning and processing algorithms;
Experience with Python, MATLAB, or LabView;
Experience with interfacing, controlling and automation of lab and measurement equipment;
Good communication skills in English with a European nationality;
Structured and independent way of working;
Experience with fiber optics measurement principles and/or interferometry is a plus;
Experience with vibro-acoustic, acceleration or acoustic emission sensors and measurements is a strong plus.
