PLC Software Engineer

On Time Engineers is searching for an experienced PLC Software Engineer work location in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Are you an engineer with a passion for designing PLC Software? Do you like to work independently in a multidisciplinary R&D team and work on embedded real-time software for cutting-edge complex & high-speed machines of which first versions are on the market?

Then, On Time, the position is still open. You will be offered a direct contract with our client, not through secondment. We guide you through the entire application process to ensure a seamless and professional experience from start to finish.

About the position

Create and maintain requirements for software services to meet customer, legal, safety and other specifications;
Design, Implement & Test PLC code made with Structured Text in a Beckhoff Environment;
Cooperate in estimating effort time and planning for engineering tasks;
Create and maintain documentation, manuals, and test protocols;
Work together in multidisciplinary project teams;
Support project management in progress reporting, identifying deviations in technical realization, quality, and cost;
Support the Field with commissioning, troubleshoot and visit Pilot sites.

Job requirements

At least a bachelor’s level of working and thinking (preferable background in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering);
3-5+ year experience in a development-focused, machine-building environment;
Experience with Beckhoff PLC system, with TWINCAT 3;
Experience with protocols like Profinet / EtherCAT;
Experience with GUI development based on PLC or on C#;
Knowledgeable about Quality + Safety requirements for PLC systems;
Experienced in PLC programming (Mainly Structured Text, Ladder Logic, or FBD);
Experienced in Setting up architecture, design, test & implementation;
Proven experience in fast control loops for servo control;
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within (multidisciplinary) teams;
Proficient in English (spoken and written);
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple issues and projects simultaneously;
Planning and organizational skills;

You must have a valid work permit for the Netherlands that does not require employer sponsorship, as our client is not a recognized sponsor.
