About the position

Our client is a leading packaging solutions provider specialized in the design and manufacturing of advanced packaging solutions for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. We are searching for a talented Packaging Engineer to join our clients global team and someone who would like to lead a team.

For this position we are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Packaging Engineer III to join our clients team and take a leadership role in their advanced semicon packaging design team. This global team manages complex packaging programs for their semiconductor manufacturing equipment customers. As a Packaging Engineer III, you will be responsible for overseeing and advancing the entire packaging development process, demonstrating your expertise in mechanical engineering, cleanroom best practices and project management proficiency.
Your leadership will be instrumental in meeting rigorous technical requirements and driving innovation while integrating evolving sustainability objectives into their packaging solutions. You will lead the team and provide guidance and mentorship to Packaging Engineers levels: apprentice, I, II and III.

 

Your tasks and responsibilities

Team leadership:
As a leader you will drive engineers of various levels towards excellence. For the customers serviced by the advanced semicon design team you will be the main contact on a program level.

Technical Leadership and Requirement Gathering:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in comprehensively understanding the specific packaging needs and technical requirements of semiconductor manufacturing equipment customers. Translate customer requirements into actionable design criteria.

Advanced Design and Engineering:
Utilize your extensive mechanical engineering knowledge and experience to develop innovative and technically superior packaging designs. Ensure that packaging solutions meet stringent technical specifications, adhere to cleanroom standards and demonstrate expertise in materials selection, protective features, ease of handling, transportation, design for manufacturing and safety.

Drafting:
Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications for the packaging solutions, ensuring accuracy, compliance with industry standards and best practices and GD&T standards (ASME Y14. 5-2018 &  ISO 1101-2017). Oversee and review drafting within design team.

Documentation and Presentation:
Prepare comprehensive documentation packages that encompass design rationale, materials, quality standards and cleanroom compliance. Maintain detailed records of design iterations and changes. Additionally, effectively communicate and present during design reviews with cross-functional teams, ensuring clear understanding and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Oversee and review documentation and presentation deliverables within design team. Implementation and release of documentation in customers PLM environment may be included. Conduct and lead design reviews with cross-functional teams, effectively communicating and presenting complex technical concepts to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Management Proficiency:
Demonstrate strong project management skills, overseeing multiple customer programs of packaging projects concurrently. Maintain detailed records of design iterations, changes, and project timelines and budgets.

Technical Expertise and Innovation:
Stay at the forefront of packaging technology advancements, materials, and cleanroom best practices. Apply your mechanical engineering principles to continuously enhance and innovate our clients current packaging solutions.

Sustainability Integration:
Collaborate with sustainability teams to drive the integration of evolving sustainability objectives into packaging design and materials selection. Lead efforts to reduce environmental impact while maintaining product integrity and promoting sustainable practices.

 

Your profile and skills

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
Proven experience as a Packaging Engineer or Mechanical Engineer, with a focus on semiconductor or cleanroom environments, demonstrating extensive mechanical engineering knowledge and experience, minimum 5+ years;
Previous experience with cleanroom packaging design for ASML is nice to have;
Profound knowledge of design and manufacturing criteria for materials such as engineering plastics, metals like aluminum and stainless steel, corrugated materials, wood and foams;
Proficiency in CAD software for drafting and design (Solidworks and/or NX);
Exceptional understanding of cleanroom best practices and industry standards;
Leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams while effectively communicating technical concepts;
An innovative mindset with a passion for sustainability and continuous improvement of product and process;
Outstanding problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail;
Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills.

DIRECT contract with our client;
 8% holiday allowance;
Maximum salary indication € 7.200 gross per month, excluding holiday allowance;
